How is it already fall?!

Is time flying for you, or does it feel like it's standing still? For me, it depends on the day. In some ways I cannot believe it's almost October, yet in other ways I can't believe that we still have over three more months left of 2020! What a year.

As we all continue to adjust to this new normal, I wanted to share a few updates in the travel world. Hotels worldwide are reopening, and slowly but surely travel is beginning to ramp back up. Some people are starting to feel more comfortable getting on flights, others are sticking to driving distance, but no matter where your comfort level falls, there are options for safe travel.

A few updates:

  • Starting October 1st, Four Season's special covid cancellation policy is going away. Right now, ANY Four Season's reservation made before September 30th (including pre-paid) will allow for changes and cancellations up to 24 hours before your scheduled arrival date (there are some black out dates depending on property, but most dates are eligible). If there is even a small chance you might feel comfortable traveling in the near future (such as Spring Break) and want to stay at a Four Seasons, it would be in your best interest to book this BEFORE September 30th to ensure you lock in the flexible cancellation.

  • Hawaii is on track to reopen to tourists October 15th. This date has been pushed back multiple times and there is always a chance that it will be pushed back again, but my partners in Hawaii feel confident about it actually happening this time. You will need to have a negative covid test within 72 hours of departure, and to help with this, United is launching a rapid testing program for passengers out of SF heading to Hawaii. It's looking to expand if all goes well, which I think is going to be key to travel right now. More info can be found here.

  • For closer to home getaways, Montage Healdsburg is opening up soon and was designed perfectly for social distancing - the property is on 258 acres of rolling vineyards and every room is bungalow style with its own balcony or deck.

  • For those comfortable with flying, One&Only Mandarina opens November 1st, and looks AMAZING. Just an hour from PVR airport, it's composed entirely of standalone rooms, suites and villas. I for one cannot wait to stay in one of the Treehouse hotel rooms! (P.S. They still have Thanksgiving and Christmas availability)

That's it for now. I hope you are all safe and well, and whenever you are ready to start planning your next trip, please reach out!
